Rotary Club of South Hilo is dedicated to education and helping out in the community, enhancing literacy by distributing dictionaries to third grade classes at local schools.

Dictionary Day at Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary

On May 7, 2025 members of the Rotary Club of South Hilo visited Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School to present dictionaries to the third-grade class where 55 dictionaries in total were distributed to young learners, presenting them with an essential resource for their educational journey.  Among those present were Club President Claudia Wilcox-Boucher, Brandy Miyose, Stefani and Seth Jeremiah.

Continuing the Initiative at E.B. De Silva Elementary

A week later, on May 14, 2025, Rotary Club of South Hilo members extended this initiative E.B. De Silva Elementary SuperBees, bringing the same enthusiasm to its students.  This consistent effort to promote literacy in our community reflects the club's unwavering support for education in East Hawaii.  Many thanks to the volunteers who made this initiative a success: Club President Claudia Wilcox-Boucher, Olivia Boucher, Charlene Iboshi, Douglas Kukila, Kylie, Stefani and Seth Jeremiah.
