July 20th and 25th marked our club's first two service projects of the new Rotary year.  On July 20th, the American Cancer Society sponsored it's annual fundraiser "Relay for Life" that draws hundreds of people from east Hawaii and raises tens of thousands of dollars for the ACS.  This  year, our Rotary club assisted with the set-up, serving and clean up of the Survivor's Dinner, a major component of the Relay for Life event.  The dinner paid tribute to dozens of cancer survivors.

On Thursday, July 25th,  RCSH started a regular service event with the "Peanut Butter Ministry", a non-profit group that serves meals to the homeless and hungry at the United Methodist Church on Waianuenue Avenue.  Our club will cover the fourth Thursday of each month. joining with other volunteers to serve the 60-75 people who come looking for a hot meal.  Please let Benson know if you are interested in helping.
